Fundraising Meeting - Aug. 20 Hello everyone, 1) At the meeting this morning, it was decided that the money raised via individual effort will be credited 100% to that person's account (company or private sponsorship still will be divided among all team members even non participant to fundraising). I will keep track of everyone's effort so keep me inform of your results. 2) The sponsorship form is still in the works. It might stay as is (see last fundraising email) depending on the purchase (or donation) of a team banner and the taking of a formal team picture (for the plaques). Karen Oliva (Adrian's Mom) is looking into the banner and might be able to donate one to us. Can someone volunteer to take a nice team picture either this weekend or probably at the following tournament (more people will be back from vacation)? We would use it on the sponsorship plaques (and the website). 3) The discount cards sold by Loudoun Soccer should be available in a couple of weeks. I have spoken with Fiona there and she has asked for an early count on how many cards the team wants to order. If you are interested in that fundraiser, let me know quickly how many your family would like to have. They are $10 a piece and $8 of it will be credited back to your account. I suggest to order at least 10 per family interested and get together at IHOP or another restaurant before Sunday brunch to sale them. Remember they also make great little gifts (they are valid for 1 year). 4) For the ESPN magazines fundraiser, I have the 2 forms you can use to sale the subscriptions. One is the 2007/2008, it has more magazines choices and sales for $20 for one year subscription (8 per form). We get to keep $12 and we can use it until December. The other is the 2008/2009, it is for 2 years subscription to ESPN magazine (6 per form) for $40 and we keep $30. Both work for new subscription and for renewal of existing ones. Checks are to made to LS99BoysRED by the end of September (for the first round of orders but can be done all year long). I will round them up before passing them to Chris Skafidas our treasurer who will then write a check to ESPN for the percentage we will owe them. Please mention to your customers that they probably won't receive their first subscriptions for a couple of months (likely not until late November). The process can be long. I will have these order forms with me tonight (around 6.15pm) at the BBQ so please ask for them so you can get started as soon as possible. Remember the order forms do not have to be complete before being returned and you can ask for as many as you want. 5) Don't forget to volunteer new ideas for fundraising and let us know which ones you would like to take care of. We still need volunteers for a potential garage sale, bake sale or groceries discount cards sale. See you later on at the BBQ, Valerie Chandra. Notes on Fundraising - Aug. 20Hello everyone, Before I write the next email concerning our fundraising effort. I would like to know definitely who does not wish to participate so that we don't send you any longer fundraising emails. Fundraising is optional and not everyone has the time to participate in it. You can also select which fundraising activities you wish to do. No one has to do them all! Some people have had problems receiving my emails so please acknowledge receiving this one either way. We had a short meeting this morning at camp. A recap email will follow. You can also come and see me tonight at the BBQ. I should make it around 6.15pm. Thanks and see you later, Valerie Chandra
