Why the name Baltimore's Charm

Baltimore has been given the moniker of “Charm City” as a marketing slogan to emphasis this city’s transition from an industrial economy to a more service oriented economy where tourism has become the main economic force.  Tourists are "charmed" as they walk around a beautifully designed Inner Harbor, explore the inviting restaurants and numerous other attractions and take in a ball game at Camden Yards, the benchmark for many other baseball stadiums. Baltimore is truly a charming metropolitan area, but we believe the true charm resides in the communities and the children which populate the area. These children will become the future doctors, lawyers, teachers, and leaders in this community. Thus,

Baltimore’s Charm is dedicated to developing and nurturing our youth, the real charm of the city and exposing these leaders of tomorrow to the country.  Regardless of some barriers, we feel with guidance and adequate resources, the potential of this city's youth is endless.  Baltimore's Charm acknowledges that the city's children are "diamonds in the rough" and we are committed to letting them to shine!

Our Mission

PurposeBaltimore’s Charm Basketball Club has been formed to give female college bound student-athletes an opportunity to improve their basketball skills through mastering the fundamentals and competing against the top competition regionally and nationally.

As the program side of Playing with a Purpose Foundation, our directive is to help participants in our program expose their talents to college coaches for the purpose of receiving athletic aid or consideration for a post-secondary education.
